It is 10:30pm and I just realized I forgot to write my Sunday Letter entirely. It slipped right past me. It has been a whirlwind between impromptu social gatherings, figuring out afterschool for the boys, a whole lot of car-related things, and a brain that has been laser focused on one thing: marketing.
A few months ago I was depleted, exhausted, and aimless. Since then, the direction has become clear.
I started taking a marketing course and it has been igniting a creative side of me I had not felt in a long time. I took the advice of people who are many miles ahead of me. They told me to really learn how to run Meta ads, that it is what helped them scale to millions of dollars. I knew they were right, but I hesitated. I could try to teach myself. Hunt down the information, piece it together, figure it out alone the way I have figured out everything else. But honestly, I did not feel like I was setting myself up for success. The second option was to take a course, which felt irresponsible given how tight things are right now.
But the more I sat with it, the more I understood that what I actually needed was orientation. Not just information scattered across the internet, but someone walking me through it step by step, in the right order, with the right context. That is when I found Sam Piliero and began taking his course.
My mind has been exploding ever since.
I have run Meta ads before with limited success, never quite understanding why they were not working. After just a few lessons, I can now look back and see exactly what I was doing wrong and why I felt so stuck. There is something incredibly satisfying about being able to audit your own past doings with new information. It feels like finally having the right tools to read the map.
These days I am brimming with ideas and energy. My only grief, as always, is time. I wish I had more hours in the day to study and test what I am learning. But my time is coming. The boys start school soon, and for the first time since KAEIU began, I will have a full work day to myself.
The tarot reader back in the May told me something insightful. When I told her I was waiting until both kids were in school to begin making real moves, she shook her head. She said: if you want anything meaningful to happen in September, you need to start now. Pave the road so the work can actually begin when the time comes.
Paving is not a single act. It is laying down piece after piece, without being able to see the full picture while you are doing it. These past few months, all I could see were the individual pieces. The setbacks. The uncertainty. The exhaustion. The searching for answers. I could not see what they were becoming. But now I can. Every single one of them was leading me here. To the bottleneck. To the thing I had been avoiding. To marketing, and finally, to understanding it.
School is just about to start. The road is ready, and so am I.
With love,
Maria
