SUSTAINABILITY INITIATIVE
At KAEIU, many of our styles are made from upcycled deadstock leather that would have otherwise ended up in a landfill. By using materials that already exist, we eliminate the energy needed to create new ones and reduce greenhouse emissions in the process.
The numbers are hard to ignore. In 2024, 80% of discarded clothing ended up in landfills or incinerators, and less than 1% was recycled back into new fibers. Each year, $150 billion worth of raw materials is simply lost. Every bag we make from upcycling leather is one less piece of material contributing to that.
